A member of the American Association of Museums, MMOFA exhibits exceptional visual art spanning over 2000 years of art history. Featured American and European masters include Picasso, Chagall, Leyendecker, Whistler and Dali. MMOFA also displays important ancient Asian Buddhist art and artifacts that exemplify the hallmarks of fine Buddhist sculpture: serenity, poise, and introspection. From the African tradition, MMOFA features hand-carved stone sculptures created by the founding fathers of the Shona movement selected by Frank McEwen, first director of the National Gallery in Zimbabwe.
